MERIDIAN Series – Horizon – Wood Watch

Ushering in a new era of discerning design, the Meridian has fundamentally changed the manufacture and construction of wooden timepieces. Reinforced steel has been integrated at key pressure points, ensuring durability without sacrificing the visual presence of the wood. The case and band feature natural kosso and camphor seamlessly fused together. The Meridian dual-wheel automatic movement further focuses the eye on the open heart mechanics. On your wrist – or in your collection, the Meridian has earned its place.

The natural kosso & camphor is hand finished and pretreated with tung oils. The Meridian is splash-proof but should not be submerged in water (3 ATM).

Lemon or orange oil extract is best for cleaning the natural wood. When storing this timepiece, avoid extremely hot, cold, and excessively dry/humid environments.

Reinforced metal is being used at key pressure points within the skeletal structure of the Meridian case in an effort to increase durability and reduce wear. The fused wood case sits between a steel bezel and a steel foundation, with the base extending to the edge of the lug ends offering a strong seat for the band to sit within. We’re confident this unprecedented build will become the standard within the industry.
A strategic but simple design choice, we outfitted the Meridian with a domed sapphire crystal. Sapphire crystals are standard for luxury timepieces, as the material is known for its durability and resilience through everyday wear. We choose a slight dome in order to reduce full dial light reflection and light bending.
The Meridian is outfitted with a notched steel, stationary bezel. This addition will reduce wear on the natural wood case and is a handsome compliment to the steel screw-down crown and integrated steel links in the band. This introduction to metal bezels is a feature we’re looking to expand upon in our past and future collections.
This is the first dual wheel movement we’ve introduced in the JORD line. For automatic enthusiasts, a dual wheel is a must have for their collection. The Meridian movement features 47 jewel bearings, a 40 hour power reserve – visible at the apex of the dial – and a traditional hours-minutes-seconds display. Because the movement is mechanical it requires no battery. In an effort to fully celebrate the complication we created an open heart dial that allows an unhindered view of the dual wheels in motion.
