Warranty FAQ

When does my warranty start?
Your warranty begins the day you pick up your repaired item from our store β€” not the date the repair was completed.
Do I need to keep my receipt?
No β€” we track all repairs in our system. Just provide your phone number at any of our locations and we can pull up your complete repair history.
What voids the warranty?
Warranty is void if the item shows signs of physical shock or impact, water damage (on non-water-resistance-rated services), or tampering by a third party. Normal wear and tear from everyday use is also not covered, as our warranty specifically covers our repair workmanship.
What’s the difference between the 5-year and 1-year warranty?
The 5-year warranty applies to our Premium Battery Care Plan for battery replacements. The 1-year warranty covers major work like complete overhauls, movement replacements, and parts replacement. Shorter warranty periods (30–90 days) cover exterior work like crystals, crowns, bands, and stone setting.
Can I use my warranty at any location?
Yes β€” your warranty is honored at all three Watch Technicians locations (Creve Coeur, Des Peres, and Chesterfield). Just provide your phone number and we’ll look up your repair history.
Is water damage covered under warranty?
Water resistance is not permanent β€” gaskets naturally age and degrade over time. Our warranty covers the specific work we performed, but ongoing water resistance requires regular maintenance including annual pressure testing and gasket replacement every 2–3 years. We recommend these services for anyone who wears their watch around water.
What if I have an issue after my warranty expires?
We still want to help. Bring your item in and we’ll inspect it at no charge. While warranty repairs are complimentary, we’ll always provide an honest assessment and fair pricing if additional service is needed.
Do vintage or antique pieces have special warranty terms?
The same warranty periods apply, but we always discuss realistic expectations for vintage pieces upfront. Older timepieces may have limited parts availability and may not achieve modern performance standards. We document the condition and discuss any limitations before starting work.
